Medical Director, Kidney Transplant Program

Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center is recruiting a transplant nephrologist leader to serve as the founding Medical Director of a new transplant center in Toledo, Ohio. This position will provide administrative oversight and leadership that supports Mercy Health’s faith-based Mission and values. Starting with kidney, and with the potential to develop other abdominal transplant programs, this role is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified transplant nephrologist to lead the start-up of a new transplant center. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board certified or eligible in nephrology

  • Completion of an AST accredited transplant nephrology fellowship or equivalent training in transplant nephrology

  • Qualify as Primary Kidney Transplant Physician under OPTN Bylaws

  • Qualify for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Ohio

  • Five years of post-fellowship experience in transplant nephrology in a leadership role preferred

A Level I Trauma Center and a Level III NICU are only two of the many features of Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center. This 370-bed facility also offers a Birthing Center, The Mercy Health Heart and Vascular Institute, The Mercy Health Neuroscience Institute, and Mercy Health Life Flight and Life Star Transport.  The Outpatient Specialty Clinic provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages, including burn, plastics, craniofacial, ENT, gastroenterology, general surgery, podiatry, urology and trauma.
